Through The 7s
Today I finally finished "learning" all of the valid 7-letter words for tournament Scrabble play. I don't have perfect recall (yet), but I am around 90% accurate on the roughly 24,000 words. So now I will just review them as I continue my quest on the 8s (I'm currently about 40% through the 27,000+ 8s).
I memorized the 7s in order of probabilty (based of Scrabble letter distribution). The first alphagram I learned was AEEINRT (= ARENITE, TRAINEE, RETINAE). The last alphagram (#20134) was KKSSSTT (= TSKTSKS).
More trivia: the rarest 7-letter Scrabble words which does not have repeated letters? QUICKLY & WICKYUP. The rarest 7-letter that would require no blank to play? MUUMUUS. The only 7-letter word which could only be spelled out if a game were accidently played with incorrect tiles in the bag? PIZZAZZ.
I already have the 2s, 3s, and 4s memorized. And most of the 5s with large valued tiles. The 6s will be the last group I tackle.
For now I will target the remaining 8s. I hope to have those done by September.
