4 Sides To Every Story

I was writing a simple computer program today that required me to distinguish between various 4-sided shapes. It dawned on me that the taxonomy for such figures seems to use consecutive letters of the alphabet for initial letters. More plainly: 
Oblong
Parallelogram
Quadrilateral (or Quadrangle)
Rectangle (also, Rhombus)
Square
Trapezoid
I'm sure I'm the only one who finds this interesting.
