Lightning
I've always liked the word "lightning".
Not the noun so much, but the verb.
Simply because it should introduce the participle "lightninging".
However, it doesn't (at least not in MW3 unabridged dictionary); the participle stays "lightning":
*it is lightning more than ever*
This seems like a cop-out to me. "Swing", "fling", "sing" and so forth all get an extra "-ing" onto their ends when used as a verb... I don't think "lightning's" multisyllabic nature should be held against it (or maybe it's the "n" before the first "ing" that causes problems?)
"Lightninging" should be a word. Period.
