Scrabble Tiles
This is a challenge I had posed a couple of years ago in a different section of my website (I also featured it at my 2nd Puzzle Party):
Using all 100 tiles of a Scrabble set (and designating the blanks as particular letters), create a list of words so that the list is as short as possible.
The best answer I have come up with (using M-W's 3rd New International):
FIBS
JOKERS
WOWING
UNEXpOSED
VIVIPERFUSION
ZOOGEOGRAPHICaLLY
QUADRATOMANDIBULAR
ETHYLENEDIAMINETETRAACETATE
I don't know if a shorter list is possible. If other lists of eight words are found, it would be nice to try to make the difference in lengths between the shortest and longest words minimal.
